Boston Whaler Unveils 420 Outrage Anniversary Edition
A half-century ago, Boston Whaler unveiled a 21-footer to satisfy demand from sportfishing enthusiasts for a bigger 'Whaler with the safety and stability for fishing, diving, skiing and cruising. The Outrage model line has enjoyed plenty of innovation, awards and tremendous popularity since 1971 and to celebrate, Boston Whaler's newest flagship has been reimagined. We're excited to introduce you to the new 420 Outrage Anniversary Edition.
Powered by a triple threat of Mercury's newest outboard motors: the 600-horsepower V12's are just as breathtaking as this upgraded model's looks - but for different reasons. A unique 2-speed gearbox engineered by ZF ensures powerful acceleration followed by an imperceptible shift to top gear that invokes a swell of torque to carry the 420 Outrage and her occupants to a top speed of 60 mph. All this high-tech power is matched with Mercury's latest Joystick Piloting system and SmartCraft VesselView display.
The 420 Outrage Anniversary Edition benefits from the advanced underpinnings of their flagship model including Boston Whaler's Dynamic Running Surface hull with automatic trim tabs. Functionality and comfort features include 3 helm chairs that can easily face forward to the helm or aft to the 3-person bench. A cockpit sunshade adds additional protection for occupants on the convertible aft bench that stows away to reveal an expansive fish-fighting cockpit. The cabin below boasts 7-feet of headroom along with a spacious V-berth, galley and head with enclosed shower.
The Anniversary Edition Package includes a custom painted triple Mercury 600hp V12 engine package to match the hull, FROSTBOX refrigeration technology, a teak accents package with upgraded exterior upholstery in Sea Gray that features a modern, sculptural style that includes textured ridges and stitching. New interior surface packages include upgraded upholstery and colors, countertops, flooring and other finishes.
The black hardtop frame package is an elegant choice that lends the boat a sleeker profile and includes frame, port and starboard helm deck grab rails, and overhead storage built into the hardtop. Like the Mercury outboards, the hardtop underside can also be paint matched to the hullside color. The Anniversary Edition also benefits from increased fuel and diesel capacity which translates to greater range and extended weekends away from the dock.
Hull #1 of this stunning special edition model from Boston Whaler is in the water and touring the East Coast with stops planned at major boat shows including Annapolis and Fort Lauderdale.
